Spider's web

Lady spider,
a weaver of fate,
attends her intricate web.

Her patience echoes intact faith,
until the fly meets its end.

her message clear,
equal levels of gentle and strength.

Even when pulverized by fear,
she follows intuition at length.

She shuttles over threads,
past split into present,
her means to capture destiny.

Lady spider, a weaver of fate,
attends her intricate web.

Inspired by the Sunday Whirl: split, listen, shuttle, intact, pulverize, clear, means, spider, follow, attend, level, echo, fly

what have you caught in your web,

The purpose of "the end"

Does anything really ever come to an end? Sure, we graduate, leave jobs, and after 365 days welcome in a new year. Television shows are cancelled, credits roll and loved ones pass on.

The present experience may have ended, but the purpose always stays with us.

Sunday Scribblings was the first online venue where I put myself out there. And I was surprised to be so welcomed by a community of other creatives.

Sunday Scribblings' purpose for me was that we all have a unique voice and someone will listen if we give them the opportunity. Sometimes someone is even inspired, moved, or entertained by our words.

After 400 weeks where creatives came together to share their voice, Sunday Scribblings has presented their last writing prompt: Finale. But their purpose will live on in the words shared by an amazing creative community.

what's the purpose of your present moment?

Letting go of "how"

Everyone's on a journey. Sometimes we know the destination and sometimes we're just wandering aimlessly, trying to figure out our way. Neither is right or wrong. If there's one thing that I finally wrapped my head around this year, is that it NEVER happens the way you expect.

Now that I'm writing full-time, I'm constantly plagued with fear and doubt. And 9 times out of 10, the fear is related to the how. How will my dream career support me? How should this scene end? How will I get published? How will I find my audience?

How? How? How?

It's time to let go of the how. And embrace the now.

Focus on what you want to create. Then do it. Push past the fear and take whatever form of action in the moment feels right. Tip toe, shimmy or leap towards your destination.

Once you truly align yourself with your joy and express it in your own way, then the Universe will meet you half way. I've seen it happen to my friends (3 of them have signed book deals this year) and have experienced it many times over myself (like finishing a clean draft of my YA and getting feedback from beta readers).

We can never control how our life will unfold. But we can follow our passions, one step at a time.

let go and flow,

Theme for 2014: joy

Good-bye 2013. A year filled with self-reflection, shedding of "old skin" and digging deep to the core essence of me.

Hello 2014! A year that will be all about JOY.

  • waking up with no alarm clock
  • yummy green juices
  • wiggling my hips wherever I please
  • traveling here, there and everywhere
  • love from 4 legged friends: kitty head butts & doggie kisses
  • doodling with no judgment
  • smiling at strangers
  • receiving compliments with wide tooth grins
  • conversations about nothing & everything
  • communing with nature
  • juicy clothing that's comfy
  • sharing my voice in new unique ways
  • daily gratitude for abundant love
  • lots of hugs and kisses
  • and whatever else my heart desires

What's your theme for 2014?

be all that you are,
