OHEMGEE It's My Cover Reveal

OHEMGEE it's finally here for the whole world to see!!! It's the cover reveal for my middle grade debut novel Sir Fig Newton and the Science of Persistence!

 (drumroll, please):

Isn't it lovely???

I was completely wowed when I first saw the black-and-white cover sketch right before Thanksgiving 2020. Then when I saw the final color version, I squealed with delight! My heart was filled with so much joy that I couldn't stop smiling and crying (happy tears!).

The amazingly talented artist, Brittney Bond, did an incredible job capturing the main character, twelve-year-old Mira Williams, and her chonky cat, Sir Fig Newton. I love, love, love everything about this cover. From Mira's determined expression, her awesome curls, and the NASA t-shirt to Mr. Chonky's white-tipped tail and lime green eyes. And of course all the purr-fect accents, including the science doodles, the Florida palm tree shadow, and the bike-a-thon flyer.

I cannot wait for biracial Black girls to see themselves on the cover and in this book. I know my inner child is over the moon. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Wanna know more about the book? Wanna add it to Goodreads? Wanna preorder now? Then please do so here! Please feel free to spread the word (and a HUGE thanks in advance if you do).

My FIRST Norwescon!

I've done readings, book signings, a book launch, and exhibited at an inaugural reading summit for Oregon librarians, but THIS will be my very first time as a panelist at a literary conference. Yes, I'm nervous, but more so I am SO SUPER EXCITED!

Norwescon is the Pacific Northwest’s premier science fiction and fantasy convention. I was invited to participate for their 2020 event, but, well, you know... covid. But they're back, this time virtually. I'm sad to not have the in-person experience, especially since this is my first time in attendance, but I know it'll still be fantabulous!

Come listen, engage, and play at any one of the seven panels I'm on. See my itinerary below (all times Pacific Standard and subject to change):
